WHEN
January 2019

In January 2019 Barcelona opened the doors to Europe’s biggest LGBTI centre. We were tasked with communicating its launch, driving people to the opening event, and creating a look and feel for all comms and event materials.

STRATEGY

The LGBTI community is so big they need a big old centre to be squeeze in together. We created the concept Som Molt*s (we are many in Catalan) to give a squishy hug of solidarity to this wicked, whopping, wonderful community. We played with the fact that the community is seen as a “minority” group, but for a minority group they’ve got a blooming big building, packed out parties, and a heck of a lot of members.

EXECUTION

We created a video that was run on Barcelona TV and public transport, as well as being shared online.

We also collaborated with the wonderfully talented Olga Capdevila to create a graphic look at feel we used across a whole range of print and pixels, including web, social media, OOH, event materials and more.

RESULTS

The video was the most viewed video on the channel in the last year, and the third most viewed on all of the channel.

We reached over 225,000 people on social media with totally organic content.

The event had a queue around the block to get in, and the style went down so well the client decided to keep using it post launch.
